The Kids Walk for Kids with Cancer is described as “an upbeat, family friendly walkathon that supports pediatric cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. ” The Walk was started in 2001 by Sophie Staples, a student at the Packer Collegiate Institute, and since then, more than $4,000,000 have been raised for cancer research. Over 70 schools participated in 2016, totaling more than 2,500 walkers.
Saint Ann’s will have its own team at the event—to register, visit our team website at: http://mskcc.convio.net/goto/saintanns2017. If you can’t attend, and would still like to be involved, please consider making a donation at the aforementioned link. Last year, Saint Ann’s students raised nearly $4,000; so far this year, we have raised nearly $9,000—we are close to our $10,000 fundraising goal!
