Reaching some 7,000 people each day, Lutheran Social Services provides critical services for New Yorkers of all ages and backgrounds. Its volunteers assist infants and senior citizens, immigrants and refugees—tackling issues like hunger, housing, and a lack of educational resources.
Lutheran Social Services is currently seeking around 10 volunteers to work with teens (ages 15–20) in four out of our five boroughs (Brooklyn, The Bronx, Manhattan, Queens). Many of these teens are immigrants (with at least two speaking limited English), and are looking for homework help, college guidance, and English tutoring. Scheduling is flexible, although late afternoons are preferable, given school hours. Spanish language skills are a plus. For more information, contact Diane Gnagnarelli.
