On Sunday, October 23rd, 2016 Saint Ann’s 10th grader Kaia B-P will be leading a walk-a-thon spanning two boroughs, in order to support the organization Water.org. Tackling the behemoth problem posed by the lack of clean water plaguing so many parts of the world (over 600 million people aren’t able to access clean water). Combating issues of water access and sanitation through a number of means, Water.org has succeeded in bringing resources to over three million people across the globe in just six years. (For more on Water.org, please visit their website.)
The walk will commence 11AM at the Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall Subway Station, and we will be walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, and through DUMBO, returning to Manhattan via the Manhattan Bridge. Each participant is asked to pay a $10 donation and if you can, try to get sponsored. It’s much easier than it might sound–all it requires is a quick email to your grandparents, aunts/uncles, parents, etc., telling them about the cause and asking them to consider supporting your effort. The walk should last around two hours. To sign up, click here to fill out a brief form. For more information, email Toby Berggruen at firstname.lastname@example.org.
