Welcome to the Saint Ann’s Community Service Program’s website and blog, founded in order to inform members of the Saint Ann’s community of the myriad programs and opportunities offered by our Community Service team, as we look to make widely available information about our activities, thus facilitating opportunities to engage with our conversations and endeavors. This site offers a glance at our commitment to furthering our School’s mission through service — creating a forum for our students to consider, contemplate, and tackle what it means to change our world through community service.
The establishment of this website reflects a multiplicity of changes enacted in our approach to service. First, we aim to foster committed, year-long partnerships with organizations — including Brooklyn Youth Sports Club, Gowanus Canal Conservancy, and Rebuilding Together — that share our overarching goals and objectives. These organizations reflect our commitment to all forms of service, and the idea that students want and may critically engage in the pursuit of helping others, and ultimately, our world.
Created to further our program’s mission, that of informing and engaging members of our community in our endeavors, here you will find glimpses of what we have done and what we aim to bring about — a synthesis of word and image that strives to convey our unabashed commitment to bringing about the world that should be. You can find both general information about our program, as well as specific upcoming opportunities.
